Meet Dr. Philip Runge, Jr.

Chiropractor Mesa, Dr. Phillip Runge Jr.Dr. Runge did not always plan on becoming a chiropractor. Early in his career, Dr. Runge studied music extensively at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music followed by a career as a musician in the Air Force Band. As a member of the armed services, Senior Airman Runge found passion in fitness and powerlifting. As a powerlifter, he was able to squat over 500 pounds in competition. In order to accomplish that goal, Senior Airmen Runge regularly visited his chiropractor to keep him performing at his best. This new found passion for health and wellness and his positive experience with chiropractic, led Dr. Runge to enroll in chiropractic college.

Chiropractic Education and Training

Dr. Runge earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine in 2018 at National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois. In addition to his education at National, Dr. Runge spent considerable time studying P-DTR. That is the main technique that he uses.

P-DTR is a unique neurological therapy. It’s based on neurology, biomechanics, neurophysiology, anatomy and extensive research. It was developed by Dr. Jose Palomar, an orthopedic surgeon and neurologist.

Dr. Palomar was able to figure out what was happening to the body when provoked with certain stimuli to the nervous system, the different pathways through the spine, all the way up into the spinal cord and brain—and what kind of results it would show. Dr. Palomar was able to determine the primary reason why this was happening.

He also could see how the body was compensating in different ways. The doctor was able to trace everything up to its root cause of why these things are happening. Then he would perform the reset of it.

In addition to being a P-DTR Advanced Practitioner, Dr. Runge is also Active Release Techniques Full Body Certified.

Helping Patients Heal Faster

With P-DTR, Dr. Runge is able to help people faster. The technique helps produce changes that sometimes last a lot longer. A lot of times, those changes are permanent. “I’ve been able to help a lot of people get over the hump of what they thought was helping them heal. But it wasn’t truly bringing them back to functioning properly. I like seeing people function well, not just feel like they’re not sick. I want them to feel better than they did before.”

Enjoying Life in Mesa

When he’s not at the practice, Dr. Runge and his wife Cassandra like being outside with their dogs, hiking or exploring. They also enjoy checking out new restaurants or listening to live music.
